Joe Hill Rossland

What a beautiful night we had at Joe Hill Coffeehouse in Rossland this past Sunday! This event is put on by Rossland Council for Arts and Culture and organized largely by Shelley Ackerman who also snapped these lovely black and white's. The Rossland Miners Hall is a lovely stage to perform on and the audience was amazingly attentive and receptive of all the performances of the evening.

We had prepared a mellow, acoustic vibe, Earth Month themed harp set but they had prepared for a little dance party and introduced us as such. They even moved the front tables out of the way as we were getting organized for our performance. We started the set as planned then started including some unrehearsed typical Steve Marc songs into the mix. Some got up and danced, some remained seated and based on the reactions, everyone had a great time!

It was a really magical event with some other brilliant performances as well starting with a surprise, unscheduled performance by Steve Brockley and Marin Patenaude as they were getting ready for their Gordon Lightfoot tribute tour. What a treat to start the evening. We then had a lovely book reading, a Rossland Light Opera Players sneak preview of their fall production and an amazing 6 piece women's ensemble - Hell's Bells. Lovely harmonies on beautiful arrangements on some classic tunes.

Joe Hill is put on once a month like my Oot's Open Mic. Go check it out, we had a wonderful time!!!

Next Oots Open Mic: Oots Open Mic featuring Aaron Pasacreta

Up next for the Steve Marc band will be a planned full on dance performance at Kaslo May Days on Sunday May 17th at 3pm. Fresh new surprise booking, we hope to see you there!!!
